Zoo Coupons
My family has always enjoyed traveling, and many times, part of our trip is a visit to the major zoo in the area. The zoos in the United States have come a long way from the first opening in 1874 of the Philadelphia Zoo. This zoo sees more than a million visitors a year, and we were happy to be among those that visited this wonderful place. We are able to see so many animal attractions because we use zoo coupons to take money off the admission fees.

Not a bad day at the zoo, the kidlets had a lot of fun. Had no idea the zoo's were so expensive this time of year. Glad we got the coupons, at least.

The zoo is gigantic, but very well organized. It's important to head in with a plan of what animals you want to see- and the order you want to see them. The skyway tram is also highly recommended since you can see the entire park and rest your feet.

From reptiles and amphibians to big cats and other mammals, we never tire of exploring animals of the world, even though we never have to travel outside the United States to do this. Wandering through primate reserves, we love to watch the orangutans, lemurs and gorillas. They seem sometimes to be so much like us, and then they'll do something so un-human that it makes us wonder once more.

Of course, we are fascinated and held captive by watching the big cats – lions, tigers, cheetahs, jaguars... the big cats are all about grace and speed, and they are truly fascinating to watch. We especially like to observe them in open areas, not cooped up in little cages. Our younger family members love the interactive exhibits like the farms that they can visit, and pet the animals. Playing with baby chicks and feeding young goats and cattle and baby donkeys have inspired in our children a love of animals that we have felt for many years. We hope that they will continue to cherish the interactions we have with animals, so that they will always value conservation.
There are more than animals at the zoo, of course. The kids love to ride the carousels, and most zoos do have one, or other rides that keep the young ones entertained. Hand-carved, hand-painted carousels are works of art, and fun for the kids at the same time. They love to ride in the aerial trams too, getting a birds-eye view of the whole zoo areas.
At other zoos, we have ridden draft horses and camels, and the kids love the pony rides. They even have ridden in swan boats at the Philadelphia Zoo, and they loved paddling around the lake. Many zoos have trains or miniature trains, and they give you a look at the exhibits that you won't see when you're simply walking through the zoo. The food at zoos is part of the experience, too. Our coupons make all these visits possible, and we're not just showing our children a good time, but we're teaching them to respect wildlife, as well.
